When we think about it, we do live in our own communities.
But Where We Live Does Not Mean We
Cannot Connect With Others.
So here are the questions -
1. Which city, state or country do you live in?
2. What “Global Connections” do you think you could make just by thinking about yourself?
3. What does your city, state or country do to improve “Global Connections”?
4. How can you develop “Global Connections”?
5. How do you make a difference to our world by having these “Global Connections”?
In Australia, we can connect so easily because of our multicultural diverse community. You only have to go to a main street to find restaurants of many different countries, such as Indian, Italian, Thai, Japanese, Greek and so forth. You can also meet so many different people with many different heritages. That is one of the reasons Australia is known as a multicultural mixing pot.
So please answer my questions and…

Hi Gemma,
I live in Geelong, Australia. I make Global connections through my blog, Clairvaux Connects and my wiki, Clairvaux Library Wiki. I also visit and leave comments on blogs around the world.
I use Skype to connect with relatives and people I know overseas.
When I take part in Webinars I learn and communicate with people from everywhere.
I also have a PLN group in Twitter where I follow links and suggestions and learn an enormous amount from people locally and all over the world.
At school, one of our most interesting Inquiry units was on other cultures in Australia and many children made connections to their own heritage.
I think the internet brings other cultures closer together. It is my goal to have our school, Clairvaux, make a global connection with another school and learn about each other through our blogs.
Gemma,
I am Sandra A and I am your mentor through the Challenge this year. I am just starting to visit my students blogs and thought I would post my comments here.
This is global for me since I live in the United States. West Virginia to be exact! I live near the largest man-made lake in the state – Summersville. We have been having great weather for this time of year – 80 degrees F yesterday!
I also make connections globally through challenges such as these, through blogs that I follow and through my Twitter PLN. That was why I got started with Twitter in the first place.
Keep up the good work and I will visit again soon!
