This is for the student blogging challenge week 7 (Only 3 weeks to go
)
I have been exploring a few sites which use Web 2.0 tools that the student blogging challenge provided for us, and I have picked my favourite from most of the categories. If you click on the title of the name of the website, it will send you to the link. So here we go!
ART
In art, there were so many to choose from!
I eventually narrowed it down to two websites-
The first one is:
Description-Colour in motion is an interactive video/game/instructions guide that helps you understsand colours and how to use them.
Requirements- Macromedia Flash Player.
Favourite Part- I love the video part because it is a funny and creative movie displaying all the traits the colour represents.
The second one I decided on was-
Description- Artpad is where you can add either random paint blotches, paint that you have drawn with your mouse or laptop finger pad.
Requirements- Nothing except for a little bit of creativity.
Favourite Part- The paint blotches. They are great fun to play around with and get a result that looks really effective.
Example-
Writing
For writing I went through all the ones supplied and picked one.
Description- FlipSnack is an interactive publishing device for your pdf documents.
Requirements-A pdf file, Macromedia Flash Player.
Favourite Part- The creativity of it. There are so many options that you can set your mind free!
Example-
Music and Audio
I liked a few of these, but I decided on my favourite and that was-
Description- Voki is a tool that you can use to make a customised avatar that talks.
Requirements- Macromedia Flash Player
Favourite Part- How you can customise your avatar, it makes it more original.
Science/Physics
I went through all these games, and really enjoyed a certain one that I had played before-
Description- A game where you have to use the laws of physics to get a ball to a red flag.
Requirements- Macromedia Flash Player.
Favourite Part- I really like the way the creators have incorporated physics and science into a fun online game.
Animation
In this category, there was one main one that stood out to me, and that was-
Description- GoAnimate-make your own animated videos. It’s free and fast. (From the GoAnimate website)
Requirements- Macromedia Flash Player
Favourite Part- Making the text to video movies. You pick your theme, characters, setting and put in the words and then you have a movie straight away.
Examples-Here are some links to posts or pages that I’ve done with a GoAnimate.

Hi Gemma,
You have ‘raised the bar’ again and your post is full of interesting information and entertainment.
I tried all the sites you recommended but I will be going back to have more tries when I have more time. I think Flipsnack would be good for Writing and your Reading group.(By the way your story was excellent) ArtPad is so creative and such fun;, Colour in Motion is intriguing – I want to examine this further; I was so bad on Red Ball that I must go back to Magic Pen and keep trying Red ball and some of the other games (great for kids who love games) I love to use Voki; and I just discovered your GoAnimate Commenting rules video which is excellent.
So you can see how your post is entertaining and informative and why it will bring readers back to it to read and play some more.

Hi Gemma
I loved your sample of these amazing web 2 tools.
Most of the children in our class would benefit from looking at these to help them expand their options of how to publish work. I especially loved the Flipsnack. I loved your story too. Is there an option to add some graphics? I’m sure that there are quite a few children who would use that tool.
Mrs V
Hi Mrs.V,
I don’t think there is an option to add graphics, because it just uploads the pdf file.
Gemma
dear: I don’t know your name
I like this post and I have a question: what is an global issue in your country?
Hi Simon,
Firstly my name is Gemma, and thanks for commenting.
I don’t think there is any global issues in my country, because in Australia we are a developed country. The only thing would have to be immigration, and people illegally coming to live in our country.

So cool!! Very interesting.
